A very patient customer from March this year had contacted Just Fine Tables about a special sized dining table and a semi-matching kitchen island console. Finally, after our relocation to Tennessee, Just Fine Tables completed and delivered the table and kitchen console to the family for their Thanksgiving this year and years to come.

The top is 100% ash that has been chemically and environmentally aged, distressed, stained, and final finished with water resistant / UV light resistant polyurethane. The base was custom built per the customer’s requirements* with some personal engineering ingenuity between Just Fine Tables and the contracted local Covington, TN welder. The base was then cleaned, primed, painted, repainted, and coated with the same kind of polyurethane as the table. (Note: The base can be removed from the table top. The mounting design is essentially the same as one Just Fine Tables found on an Ethan Allen table that we restored a couple of years ago.)
* Customer requirements: Plenty of leg room, no table legs on corners, easy to swing legs around underneath without bumping table, and definitely strong and rigid.
IF one looks at the upper left hand side of the table picture one should see an empty kitchen console sitting in front of the kitchen window. …. This kitchen console was also custom built to the customer’s specifications (or as nearly as we could do it).

The Kitchen Island Console’s top and shelves were built from cutoff pieces of the table top ash and prepared and finished similarly. (Note: One should note that the console’s top and the table top’s center piece are the same wide piece of lumber.)
One should note that the kitchen island console is similar to many of the wine bar buffet table consoles built by Just Fine Tables. The major differences in this custom piece are that it is on casters so that it can be easily rolled from place to place and that there are no wine bottle slots in the shelves. The customer plans on using the shelves for cook books, etc., in addition to typical kitchen island uses.
FYI: Prior to finishing the above dining table and island, Just Fine Tables has received our first order of a custom table locally here in Tennessee. It will be built and delivered to our new customer for Christmas. The customer found us online at https://JustFineTables.com while searching the web. The customer was extremely surprised to learn that we currently live only about 20 miles from the customer’s new home. Anyway, the table desired will be a 60″ Square table similar to this one the customer found on our website.

The new local customer’s table will not have the matching benches. They will only use chairs with their new table.
