In addition to Building Handmade Farm Tables, Just Fine Tables will occasionally Refinish Dining Tables and/or Chair Sets for direct resale or as the result of a customer request. The latter was the case for a family who wanted to redo their old dining room table and chair set to be useable and appealing in their new home.

The refinishing was started about two weeks before Easter with the expectation ( and weather permitting) to have the refinishing completed to allow the family to enjoy Easter with their updated family dining table and chairs in their new home . As you can see above, the weather was agreeable and we succeeded.
And now, “For The Rest Of The Story”
:: It’s always nice to show finished work, but it’s important for folks to have an understanding and idea of what is required to get to a completed job like the above. So, …this is what the dining table and chair set looked like beforehand.

And… the new home kitchen and island setting we wanted to coordinate our table and chair refinishing with…
NEW HOME KITCHEN and ISLAND LOOK
The Distressed Black Base of the Kitchen Island and the Dark Granite Counter Tops accenting the lighter colors of the floor tile and island top was the basis for refinishing the chairs, table legs, and table apron to match the Kitchen Island Base.
The table top refinishing was done attempting to coordinate/ complement with some of the darker colors in the granite kitchen island top while maintaining and highlighting some of the natural grain of the table top’s beauty. (Note: The table top’s natural grain was not readily apparent until it was stripped and sanded.) Also, since the chairs were going to be refinished to match the kitchen island base, agreement was made that the chairs’ upholstered seats would need to be redone also. (The customer took responsibility of having the seat upholstering done while Just Fine Tables refinished the chairs.)

Note: The chairs were redone before the table, and as a result, they were returned to the customer in order for the re-upholstered seats to be reinstalled while the refinishing of the dining table and its leaf was being completed.
The Total Refinishing of the Dining Table and Chairs Set was completed and delivery accomplished prior to Easter (i.e. shown at the beginning of this post).
However, since Easter… the owner has added a few additional new furniture items to the kitchen and dining area for even more function and beauty.

Oh!, By The Way….. An added benefit to work like the above is the joy of meeting new folks and making new friends. Please know that … It doesn’t get much better than this.
