In addition to building Handmade Farm Tables and Other Furniture Items, Just Fine Tables does Refinish Furniture and/ or Repair-Refine Furniture items. With that in mind, thought it might be useful to review some of our previous Restoring – Re-Purposing works from the past.

Please note that Just Fine Tables did all the staining and painting of the dining set ensemble… but, the upholstering of the chair seats was done by someone else.

“This table is the Only Table that we have ever painted.” Most of our items are stained. However, we believe that you would agree that we did a darn good job with our paint job. We do know that someone else thought so as it sold almost immediately when we displayed it at the Encore Resales store in Pelham, AL.

We found this set while on a trip to Texas. We brought it back to Alabama and restored and refinished it there. We displayed it at Encore Resales and soon it found a home near Montevallo, AL for a lady who had been looking for a set like that for over 2 years. (Sometimes one just gets lucky!)

We have Refinished Round Pedestal Tables many times. We are showing only one here as it is a good representation of the many we have done… and continue to do when we find them. We love to add chairs with our refinished tables as it always makes a better offering to our customers.

On occasion we find a worthwhile piece of furniture like this Broyhill Coffee Table that needs a little TLC. We enjoy refinishing beautiful and useful pieces like this that will match our motto of ..”Tables To Love And Last”. (FYI: Just outside in our shop is a similar Coffee Table table that we will refinish in the near future. You will just have to wait and see what we do with it. But, we are confident that it will meet with your approval upon refinishing.)
VINTAGE “COURTHOUSE” ARM CHAIR:

We found this story teller and restored it to its historic beauty. We displayed it at Encore Resales and also advertised it on Craigslist. (Well, to make a long story short… we got a call from a guy from Austin, TX asking if the chair remained available (found on Craigslist). We said it was still available. The guy said I Want It!, but he said he lived in Austin, TX. He did not know how we could ship it to him and how much it would cost to do so. –SURPRISE–We told him $20 for gas as we were planning on visiting our Son and Family there within a week or two. {Another Good Luck Thing} .. We brought the chair to Austin and sold it to the guy plus $20 gas money.( the guy was an attorney who had been looking for one of those type chairs for his personal home office.))
UNIQUE ‘LINGERIE CHEST’ WITH MIRROR:

We found this unique Lingerie Chest at a Salvation Army store around Memphis during one of our trips to the family farm. It was really cool, but did require some restoration. We did the restoration, painted, and upgraded the chest and … made someone happy soon after we displayed it at Encore Resales.
RE-PURPOSED SEWING MACHINE:

Just Fine Tables found this old sewing machine and thought it would work well as a desk / vanity. We restored it and did our best to make it useful and to look good. (Please note: There is an electric sewing machine still in the table… it did work, but would need a professional sewing machine repair person to make it work correctly.)

We restored this cute Drop Leaf Round Table and displayed it at Encore Resales in Pelham, AL. Someone purchased it, but as typical… we did not know who was the purchaser. ………….Move ahead to present day: We have not met the person who purchased the Drop Leaf Round Table, but we have been contacted in the last 2 weeks by the owner asking if we could provide a base for a table top they are having built. Seriously. Here is a picture of this table in its new home.

Antique Estate Farm Table
This old Antique Farm Table was restored and refinished. The table was unique with its deep apron and the big drawer on one end. We knew that anyone who wanted this table would need to have chairs with no arm rests to fit under the table. Well… a lady from around Huntsville, AL saw this and fell in love with it. Yes,… it is in her home now.

Found this Unique Table / Desk and just had to refinish it. Glad we did as it found a new home soon after we displayed it at Encore Resales.
COUNTRY HUTCH ON OPEN BASE:
Country Hutch on Open Base (20″ x 62″ x 72″ w/ 11″ deep shelves)
This Country Hutch is a Restoration, a Rebuild, a Re-purposing, and a Refinishing piece combined. We have added this to this blog post as it displays many of the things that can be done to provide a useful and attractive piece of furniture. :: The base needed a top (we built a top for the base). We had the top shelf assembly from a discarded piece of furniture. (we added it to the newly rebuilt base.) Then we just did our thing…. and put it all together as you see in the picture. [ Yes!, It Found A New Home!!]
